Can you really maintain your weight loss on a yo-yo diet? Take a low-carbohydrate diet for example. For two or three weeks, you eat very few carbohydrates and mostly proteins. You lose at least 20 pounds. You are happy with your weight loss and now decide to stop dieting and resume your normal eating habits. Your normal eating habits will of course include eating carbohydrates. Because you have no idea how to maintain your weight, you will have no idea how many carbs you can eat until you start gaining the weight back again.
