A primary pitfall for any agent trying to sell an insurance policy is to tell and not sell. This is one of the most important insurance marketing tools you can possess. The bare bones truth of the matter is that people in general do not like sales people. Keeping that in mind, the last thing you need to do is to rattle on and harp at them. Instead, ask more questions instead of simply rattling off a bunch of facts. If you ask questions, potential customers will come to the realization that this is something they need, which will in turn prompt them to buy a policy.
