You’ll see a lot of interesting advice if you search for “nofollow links SEO” in Google, and almost all of it will try to tell you that nofollow links aren’t worth your time. when it comes to SEO.

I, along with several other website owners, tend to feel differently.  Yes, it’s probably true that a nofollow link isn’t “worth” as much as a dofollow link, but that’s not the same as the link not being worth anything at all.  For one thing, many search engines such as Ask and Bing don’t even recognize the nofollow link, and there’s plenty of evidence that Google does in fact follow nofollow links.

With all of the high-quality sources such as Wikipedia and major social networking sites that have ‘nofollow’ on all of their links, Google can’t possibly be doing their job if they are actively ignoring those links.  Common sense tells you that nofollow links aren’t as useless, then, as their name might imply.
