The counter for queenstown airport car hire was right there by the luggage carousel which was very handy. We obviously didn’t have to go far to get the keys and the car and soon enough we were in our hotel enjoying the view over the lake. We had hoped to spend the first day on the mountain but because of the delay with our flight it was too late to make it worthwhile going up the mountain so we decided to spend the afternoon looking around town and then getting an early night for an early start in the morning. We really liked the township and we liked the ski fields even more so it has now made it on to our list of favorite places.
